Massage is one of the oldest healing arts. Chinese records dating back 3,000 years documents its use. The ancient Hindus, Persians, and Egyptians applied forms of massage for many aliments. Hippocrates wrote many papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. There are many benefits from massage which can help with several chronic conditions, immunity suppressions, depression, and so much more. So many of us already know how massage helps to relieve the stress and tensions of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness
Your session will take place in a warm, quiet and comfortable room. Prior to each session, I will ask you a few general health questions to insure your safety and we will discuss exactly what your desired outcome will be from the massage session. Your responses to those questions may help me to concentrate on the areas of your body which I will focus more on during the massage. You will be at all times properly draped for your warmth and security. As the massage progresses, the work may become deeper and more specific to your needs. I always encourage an open dialogue to ensure the best possible outcome from the massage.
It can help to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augments one's physical functions - Massage Therapy has become a staple of many of the professional athletes' training work out requirements, and it is not just for athletes. Lifestyle factors, such as long work hours or physically taxing tasks, lead many members of the workforce to seek the assistance of a massage therapist. A seemingly minor injury can have a profound impact on a person's ability to stay physically active, to participate fully in life, or even make a living if it becomes a chronic concern. Massage therapy can be one of the ways in helping to prevent this outcome. It can help to relax tight and tensed muscles. Many people do not even realize how much a tight muscle can affect their posture. A tense muscle can throw off your body's balance and cause your other muscles to try and compensate for it. It can help to improve circulation, recovery time, and your immune factors. The movements of the muscle by massage can cause the blood to flush out the muscles and joints. This flushing process can enhance your circulation and in some cases it can help aid in the recovery from an injury. It can reduce ones overall stress levels. We are all becoming more and more aware of how stress effects each of our lives.
